Whatever you’ve got your sights set on, that’s merely the beginning. As a Gator you’ll learn to see beyond the horizon.
Our eager children have a real thirst for learning and our excellent staff is committed and dedicated to ensuring that each and every child achieves.
Our mission drives our six core values. Together, they capture our commitment to nurturing both head and heart in balance.
Scholarship: supporting meaningful intellectual engagement, rigorous thought, and the life of the mind
Creativity: fostering curiosity, exploration, discovery, and the value of generative work and art
Diversity: embracing difference, access and inclusion to build understanding and empathy
Integrity: cultivating decency, honesty, goodness, and personal responsibility
Joy: creating a community of positive energy, active participation, and lively engagement
Respect: caring for oneself, for one another, for the space we share, and for the work we do
M School is rooted in providing children with experiences that enable them to question, to explore, to create, and to grow. Within a nurturing environment, children develop social, emotional, and intellectual skills through active engagement and hands-on experiences.
We understand the important role we play as your child’s world expands from the safety of home to the school community. We support a child’s entry into preschool with a gentle phase-in and separation process. We believe that a child’s first school experience sets the stage for a love of learning.
The M School is a community of family of parents, children, and staff. We believe that parents are a child’s first and most important teacher. We place great importance on developing trust, not only between children and their teachers, but as importantly, between parents and teachers. We welcome parents to participate in the life of the school. In every classroom, parents form a lovely continuum between school and home. Parents can come to school to read a book, or demonstrate particular skills. Please let us know how you would like to contribute so we can adjust our schedule.
Note: We are sensitive to the realities of working families, so parent involvement is purely voluntary.
Thank you for your interest in Morningside Preschool of Performing Arts.
The foundation of our practice begins with the philosophy that children are more apt to ask questions and approach challenges in a classroom where they feel safe and nurtured. The teachers at The Morningside Preschool of Performing Arts are deeply committed to ensuring that every child feels respected and valued, with the understanding that a child’s first school experience can set the stage for a love of learning that continues beyond preschool.
Our classrooms reflect a balance between open-ended and structured learning activities. Children learn what it means to be a member of a classroom community and how to be a friend. We believe that social and emotional development is integral to intellectual development and achievement. At M School, children are active participants in the learning process.
Encouraging parent participation and building a bridge between home and school is essential to our program’s goals. Supporting strong teacher-parent relationships enhances and extends our understanding of the children in our classrooms.
The essence of The Morningside Preschool of Performing Arts is reflected in the warm spirit of its community of children, parents, teachers, and staff. It is an inclusive and supportive community where life-long friendships are formed.
